Sustainability

Open uncoated cardboard box with the eucalyptus lyocell storage bag inside

We would rather tell you exactly what we do than describe ourselves with a word like sustainable. Here is what goes into The Sheets, and how it is made.

The fibre

The Sheets are 100% eucalyptus lyocell. Eucalyptus is grown without irrigation or pesticides, and the fibre is made from its pulp using a TENCEL equivalent process.

The process

Lyocell is made in a closed-loop system that recovers up to 99% of the water and solvents used in production, so they are reused rather than released.

The certifications

  • OEKO-TEX Standard 100. The fabric is independently tested for harmful substances.
  • FSC. The wood is sourced from responsibly managed forests.

These are independently verified credentials rather than claims we make about ourselves. There are no cooling treatments or finishes applied to the fabric.

Where it is made

The Sheets are made with our manufacturing partner in Hangzhou, China. China is one of the world's leading lyocell producing nations, and Zhejiang province is one of its primary hubs. We name where our bedding is made because we think you should know.

The packaging

Every set arrives in an uncoated, uncoloured cardboard box that goes into standard household recycling. There is no plastic in the packaging. The set comes with a eucalyptus lyocell storage bag, made to be kept and reused.

Made to last

Eucalyptus lyocell gets softer with every wash rather than wearing thin, and it washes at 30 degrees. Bedding you keep for longer is bedding you replace less often.
